Setting the Development Mode

The WebSpeed AppBuilder supports two development modes: local and remote.

Use local mode when all of the following conditions are true:

The working directory and PROPATH are set during installation of WebSpeed. For more information, see the WebSpeed Installation and Configuration Guide .

Use remote mode when the WebSpeed Development Server is on a remote machine, and when either of the following conditions are true:

To change the development mode, click on the Development Mode toggle button, which is the last button in the AppBuilder tool bar. The Development Mode button in remote and local modes is shown in Figure 2–2.

NOTE: If you have network or other problems and cannot access a remote WebSpeed Development Server, you can switch to local mode to create and save source files. However, you cannot compile source files that contain Embedded SpeedScript unless remote mode is enabled.
