Progress/400
Product Guide
Security
In the DataServer architecture, there are three levels at which you should consider security issues:
- Schema-holder security — Implement standard Progress security for the schema holder on the client as needed. For more information on schema-holder security, see the chapter on security in the Progress Database Administration Guide and Reference.
- Application security — Implement security at the application level. For more information on application-level security, see "Common Product Information," in this manual and the chapter on security in the Progress Programming Handbook.
- OS/400 security — Implement standard OS/400 security for the DB2/400 database files. Progress applications accessing DB2/400 files are subject to any security for these files. See "System Administration," for more information on database security.
