Citrix MetaFrame

Table 1–3 lists the minimum requirements for running Progress on Citrix MetaFrame Versions 1.8 and XP; these requirements are similar to those needed when running Progress on Windows NT. For more information about system sizing on the Citrix MetaFrame platform, see the product documentation.

Requirements
Progress 4GL client
To support 16 Progress 4GL clients, a Pentium Pro PC (or compatible computer) with a clock speed of at least 200MHZ and a minimum of 128MB of RAM for the operating system.
Progress 4GL clients and Progress server on the same system
To support 16 Progress 4GL clients and a Progress server on the same machine, a Pentium Pro PC (or compatible computer) with a clock speed of at least 200MHZ (400MHZ recommended).
256MB of RAM.
Hard disk drive
Sufficient disk space to hold the Progress software you want to install. See Table 1–4 to determine the disk space that Progress products use.
Disk space
Sufficient disk space on the drive where Citrix MetaFrame is installed for Windows-based system files that Progress copies there.
Operating system

Microsoft Windows NT Version 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, running Citrix MetaFrame Version 1.8. Additionally:

  • If you are installing a product that contains Progress Explorer, SQL Explorer, or ProxyGen, you must have Microsoft Internet Explorer (MS IE) Version 4.01 or later installed on your system. You can download MS IE Version 4.01 or later from
    www.microsoft.com/ie.
  • U.S.A. systems must have Service Pack 4.0 or later.
Java
See the "Java" section for detailed information about the Java requirements if you are installing the Enterprise, Personal, or Workgroup Database; the Open Client Toolkit; or SQL-92 Client Access.
CD-ROM
A CD-ROM drive.
