Using the Progress AppServer
Running and Managing Remote Procedures
Once a client application connects to an AppServer, the client application can invoke requests to:
- Run remote procedures persistently or non-persistently on the AppServer using the RUN statement.
- Run internal procedures and user-defined functions in remote persistent procedures.
NOTE: A user-defined function cannot run asynchronously.- Run both remote external and internal procedures asynchronously.
- Delete remote persistent procedures using the DELETE PROCEDURE or DELETE OBJECT statement.
