Displaying Data and Attribute Values
You can display the value of any specified field, parameter, variable, or widget attribute that is accessible from the current procedure using the corresponding DISPLAY FIELD, DISPLAY PARAMETER, DISPLAY VARIABLE, DISPLAY widget:attribute, or DISPLAY handle:attribute command. The DISPLAY FIELD command accepts (and requires) any buffer qualifier that you need to uniquely specify the field.
A widget can include any legal 4GL reference to a user-interface widget, system handle, or procedure handle. You can qualify user-interface widget references as you do in the 4GL to specify the type of widget and its container, as necessary. An attribute can include any attribute associated with the specified widget. Note that you cannot query (and thereby invoke) the methods of a widget.
