PARSE-STATUS Attribute

The current state of a SAX parse.

Data Type: INTEGER

Access: Readable

Applies To: SAX-READER Object

The default value is SAX-UNINITIALIZED.

The values that PARSE-STATUS can assume are described in Table D–8.

Indicates...
SAX-UNINITIALIZED
No parsing has occurred.
SAX-RUNNING
Parsing has begun.
SAX-COMPLETE
Parsing has begun and one of the following has occurred:
  • The parser has determined that there are no more tokens in the XML source.
  • The application has stopped the parser by calling the SAX-READER’s STOP-PARSING() method.
SAX-PARSER-ERROR
One of the following has occurred:
  • The parser could not start or could not continue. Perhaps the parser could not be loaded, the XML source could not be found, the XML source was invalid, etc.
  • The parser started, but a callback executed a RETURN ERROR statement.
