The SET Statement
SET works like a PROMPT-FOR followed by an ASSIGN statement. Figure 8–17 shows the data movement with SET.

You use SET when you don’t need to execute any tasks between the time that the data is in the screen buffer and moves to the record buffer. This is a partial syntax for the SET statement.
SET also has implied application blocking.
