Including Graphics in Help Topics
Help allows you to use graphic images to illustrate your help text. A help topic that contains a graphic can function as a standard illustration, or it can be coded as a jump, a popup link, or a destination topic. (Linking graphics to help topics is discussed later in this chapter.) This section lists the graphic formats the help viewers support and explains how to insert graphics into help topic files.
Graphics files consist of images in certain file formats. You reference graphics files inside the help topic file where you want them to appear, and then they become a part of the finished help file at compile time.
The help engine supports several graphic formats. Table 3–2 lists the supported graphic formats.

Whenever file size is an issue, using segmented hypergraphics can reduce file size dramatically. (For more information about segmented hypergraphics, see the "Adding Hotspots to Graphics" section.)
