Connecting to a Non-Progress Database
Follow these steps to connect to a non-Progress database (ORACLE, for example):
- Create a Progress database. This database stores the target database’s structure as a Progress schema; it is a schema holder. A schema that corresponds to a non-Progress database is a DataServer schema.
- Connect the schema holder.
- Use the appropriate Create Schema parameter from the Data Dictionary’s database menu to create the DataServer schema in the schema holder. This parameter:
- Connect the DataServer schema.
