Debugger Guide
STEP Command
Runs a specified number of executable lines from the current stopping point in the executing procedure.
SYNTAX
PARAMETERS
integer
An integer that specifies the number of executable lines to execute. The default value is 1.
NOTES
- If the STEP command executes a statement in a procedure that calls a trigger or subprocedure, the Debugger steps into the trigger or subprocedure and continues until a total of integer lines are executed. If the STEP command stops in the trigger or subprocedure, the trigger or subprocedure is now the current procedure, and you can continue execution from the current stopping point.
- The STEP command ignores breakpoints and executes every executable line that it encounters.
- Stepping into a trigger or subprocedure to the first executable line and stepping out of a trigger or subprocedure from the last executable line each count as one line of the specified integer lines.
- When you return from a trigger or subprocedure that the STEP command has stepped into, the calling procedure executes any remaining statements on the line that called the trigger or subprocedure and proceeds to the next executable line.
