Version 9
for Windows
Using the Shared Network Installation Utility
The Shared Network Installation utility updates each client machine with all system files, icons, and registry entries that are necessary for launching Progress locally. Each client shares the networked copy of Progress.
Follow these steps to perform a Progress shared network installation on your client machine:
- From the Start menu, choose Run. The Run dialog box appears. Enter this command in the Run dialog box:
where the destination path is the same path where Progress is installed on the server machine.
- Choose OK. The Shared Network Installation Utility dialog box appears:
![]()
A network installation directory path appears.
- Choose the default group name or type a different name in the Group Name field. If the group name does not already exist, the install utility adds the group name to your system’s Program menu.
- Choose a working directory. The working directory is where Progress places the databases and programs you create.
- Choose Finish. You can access Progress from the network.
