Working with Progress Jobs
Progress/400 provides job control for the jobs it starts and manages through the Work With Progress Jobs (WRKPROJOB) utility. Using this utility, you can display information about, and exercise limited control over, all Progress/400 jobs.
When Progress/400 broker, server, or native clients’ processes start, user spaces are created in the Progress Temporary Library (PROTMP). The WRKPROJOB utility uses these user spaces to determine what Progress jobs are currently active. Normally, Progress deletes these temporary objects at the end of the job that created them. However, if the AS/400 shuts down abnormally, these temporary objects are not deleted from the PROTMP library, and WRKPROJOB shows that the jobs that created them still exist, though the job status (Job STS) field for such a job is blank. To remedy this problem, after the AS/400 reboots (completes its Initial Program Load, or IPL) after the abnormal shutdown, you must delete all of the “status” user spaces in the PROTMP library.
