Remote and Local Calls

In general, local 4GL–JMS API calls are less expensive than remote calls (calls that go to the SonicMQ Adapter and the SonicMQ broker). Remote procedures and functions are noted in the "Programming With the 4GL–JMS API" section in "Accessing SonicMQ Messaging From the Progress 4GL" and in the "4GL–JMS API Alphabetical Reference" section in "4GL–JMS API Reference." This information is useful when analyzing the performance of an application.
