Starting a Remote DataServer

This section describes how to start and stop a remote DataServer for SQL Server™. (Note that these procedures apply only to an Enterprise DataServer for SQL Server™.) Starting a remote DataServer involves starting the processes that make up the remote DataServer, as follows:

  1. Start the DataServer broker process on your host machine. For details, see one of the following sections:
  2. Start a Progress client process on a UNIX machine or on a PC running Windows that connects to the schema holder and the SQL Server™ database.
