How To Implement the User-Group Authorization Feature

To implement the User-Group Authorization feature on a UNIX platform, you must first successfully complete the Version 9.1E installation program.

Table 5–3 identifies and briefly describes the purpose of each new command-line option:

Table 5–3: User-Group Parameter Options
Parameter name
Syntax
Purpose
Individual user name and password required
-requireusername
To require a minimum of one user ID to be resolved for each AdminServer operation before it can be executed.
Group authorization required
-admingroup group [{,|:}group...]
To require a minimum of one group to be resolved for each AdminServer operation before it can be executed.
On a UNIX platform, a comma-separated list differentiates groups when you are specifying multiple groups on the command line.

On UNIX platforms, a group name can be any user-defined or NIS group name. UNIX can also support subgroups.
