Managing the WebSpeed Transaction Server

The WebSpeed Transaction Server is a background process and, as such, does not present a visual interface to the administrator. However, you can manage the Transaction Server with the WTBMAN utility, and you can validate the Transaction Server with the WSCONFIG utility. The validation reads the file and reports the status of the Transaction Server. The WTBMAN utility commands run remotely; the WSCONFIG utility commands only run locally.

You can also use the Progress Explorer remotely from a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0 machine to manage and validate the Transaction Server. (With the Progress Explorer, you can also configure the Transaction Server.) See the Progress Explorer online help for more information.

In addition to allowing you to start, query, or stop the Transaction Server, the WTBMAN utility lets you do the following:
