Remove Server Schema Entry (RMVSCHE)

Use the RMVSCHE utility to remove schema entries from a server schema. This utility allows you to remove entries from the Progress/400 environment’s physical, virtual, and logical files without removing them from the selected library. After you run this utility, you must synchronize the clients so that the schema holders reflect the changes.

The "Usage Guidelines for the RMVSCHE Utility" section provides some special information on using this utility. Read it before you run this utility. For more information on how the RMVSCHE utility executes, see the "Operational Notes for the RMVSCHE Utility" section.

Enter the name of the library containing the server schema to be synchronized.
Server Schema Entry
ENTRY
Enter a list of from 1 to 25 entries to remove from the server schema. You must include the following information for each entry:
entry-name: The file name of the entry to remove. If you specify an entry type of *TABLE, you can specify either entry-name or *ALL.
library: The name of the library where the file resides. If you specify an entry type of *TABLE, you can specify either library or *ALL.
entry-type: The entry type; that is, the type of file specified for this entry. The possible values are:
*TABLE: Any file entry in the P__FILE file
*INDEX: Any file entry in the P__INDEX file
*RELATIONS: All entries in the P__INDEX
file for the named file except physical file key
Automatically Reassign Primary Index
ASGNPRIM
Specify whether to reassign the primary index automatically. Enter one of the following:
- Enter *YES (the default) to automatically
reassign the primary index.
- Enter *NO to not automatically reassign the
primary index.
Synchronize Schema Image
SYNCSCHE
Specify whether to synchronize the schema image. Enter one of the following:
- Enter *YES to synchronize the schema image.
This option allows you to remove items from the
server schema and update the schema image in
one step.
- Enter *NO (the default) to not synchronize
the schema image.
