Progress/400
Product Guide
Language Restrictions
Because the 4GL is database independent, most 4GL language elements (statements, functions, and so forth) work the same whether your application accesses a DB2/400 database or a Progress database. The following sections describe the Progress 4GL statements or functions that are not supported or that return different results when used with the Progress/400 DataServer against a DB2/400 database. Most of the statements perform Data Dictionary maintenance or transaction management (database recovery) functions. Use OS/400 facilities to perform these tasks. If you use these statements, the errors they generate are not fatal unless specifically noted.
For language restrictions using the native clients, see the "Executing Progress Code from the Native Clients" section in Preparing to Use AS/400-based Clients."
