Accessing the WebClient Installation Files
The two prebuilt WebClient InstallShield images are ready-to-deploy WebClient installers that you can use to install WebClient on users’ machines. One image is used for a CD-ROM install and one image is used for a Web-enabled install.
To access these install images, insert your Progress installation CD in your CD-ROM drive and open the root level. From there, you can find the images as follows:
- CD-ROM WebClient installer image in the following directory:
To create a CD-ROM for installing WebClient, copy the
win_image
directory contents to the CD that you want to distribute.- One-Click Install WebClient installer image in the following directory:
To provide a Web installer for installing WebClient over the Web, copy the directory contents to an appropriate location on your Web site.
Although you can deploy this installer without customization, Progress Software recommends that you customize it to provide installation of your WebClient application along with WebClient. For more information, see the "Customizing the WebClient Installation" section.
NOTE: If you provide a prebuilt WebClient installer without customization, you must provide your end users with instruction to install your WebClient application as a separate installation step.
