Dynamic Code Page Support
Progress Version 9.1D and WebSpeed Version 3.1D offer dynamic code-page support. This feature lets a Web browser running one code page and a WebSpeed Agent running a different, but compatible, code page exchange data without corrupting it.
With dynamic code-page support, a single Agent can handle requests from multiple browsers each running a different code page compatible with the Agent’s code page. This can reduce the number of Agents required.
In fact, a single Agent running the UTF-8 encoding of Unicode (a standard whose goal is to map all characters of all the world’s languages to a single code page) can handle Web requests from multiple browsers each running a code page compatible with Unicode. This can reduce the number of Agents required.
For more information on this feature, see "WebSpeed Dynamic Code-page Support."
