Components of a Hypertext Link
Hypertext links consist of two parts: link text, a visual cue to the user identifying the link; and a destination topic identifier that informs the help viewer which topic or topics to find when the user activates the link. The destination topic identifier is the topic ID of the topic you are linking or a KLink or ALink macro listing keywords or A-keywords to use in a topic search. Figure 3–7 shows a jump as it might appear in a help topic file.

In a help window, which is displaying topics from the compiled help file, the user sees only the link text. The help engine does not display the destination topic identifier. The appearance of the link in the help viewer indicates the link type, as shown below.
In a help window, jumps, KLinks, and ALinks are identified as text with a solid underline:

All link text is displayed in green by default.
