Start Word Index Support Processor (STRWISPRC)
Use the STRWISPRC utility to start the Word Index Support Processor. This Processor consists of two perpetual jobs named PROWISRCV and PROWISDTAQ. When you run STRWISPRC, it submits the PROWISRCV job to the job queue. Once PROWISRCV starts, it starts the PROWISDTAQ job. When these jobs have started, each executes a CHGJOB command on itself to change its Run Priority (RUNPTY) to 20 and its Time Slice (TIMESLICE) to 2000. This forces both jobs to run at interactive priority, which ensures that they run very quickly.
If the PROWISDTAQ job ends abnormally because of an error or because an ENDJOB command is run against it, the PROWISRCV job starts it again. This ensures that the PROWISRCV job can perform its task. However, if the PROWISRCV job ends, you must restart this job with the STRWISPRC utility.
There is exactly one PROWISRCV job per Word Index Work Library, and each PROWISRCV job starts exactly one PROWISDTAQ job. If the Word Index Support Processor jobs are already running when you execute the STRWISPRC utility, the utility returns a message noting that only one set of Processor jobs can be active at one time.
When the STRWISPRC utility executes, it deletes old journal receivers and reorganizes the PROTRGTXN file. You should shut down and restart the Word Index Support Processor regularly to minimize the number of old receivers and the size of the PROTRGTXN file.
For a description of word indexing, including the Word Index Support Processor and the Word Index Work Library, see the "Progress/400 Word Index Support" section in Common Product Information."
Table 10–18 describes the STRWISPRC parameters.
