Updated Documents In Version 9.1E
This section lists the documents in Version 9.1D documentation set that were updated for Version 9.1E:

In addition to the release-specific changes listed in the first three chapters, the following appendices from Version 9.1D have been updated with new feature documentation in Version 9.1E:
- "Progress DataServer" — Updated to document enhancements to the DataServer for MS-SQL and "FireHose Cursors" for managing result sets.
- "AppServer Internet Adapter" — Updated to document previously undocumented behavior, including AIA support for Internet access to the SonicMQ Adapter and a description of the syntax to build the URLs that Progress clients use to access the AppServer or SonicMQ Adapter over the Internet using the AIA.
- "Progress 4GL Language Reference" — Updated to document the new STARTUP-PARAMETERS attribute on the SESSION system handle and the modified SHOW-STATS statement.
- "Administration" — Updated to document the new Progress initialization file option,
UseClipChildren
, which lets you display specified Progress widgets in Windows XP style instead of using Windows Classic style.- "SQL-92" — Updated to document enhancements to SQL-92, including updated driver support, scripts to set SQL-92 engine environment settings, support for adding case sensitivity to table columns, support for allowing 4GL clients to update table fields in a way that respects the width of the corresponding SQL table column, support for identifying and fixing violations of SQL column widths and for identifying other table data values that are incompatible with SQL, support for setting the time-out duration that SQL clients wait for a locked row, and support for executing a
SELECT
statement that ignores locked rows (enhancing performance when access to the locked rows is not required).The following new appendices with new feature documentation have been added in Version 9.1E:
- "Progress Deployment Features" — Describes the deployment tasks required to enable specified Progress widgets to display using Windows XP style instead of Windows Classic style.
- "Progress Startup Command and Parameter Reference" — Describes the new PROCLUSTER command that supports the new built-in Failover Clusters feature for the Progress RDBMS and describes several new startup parameters.
- "Progress RDBMS" — Describes the new support for reordering AI extents, extracting the active AI notes from a full AI extent, querying the status of AI extents, and handling AI extents for a target stand-by database that is copied or backed up by the operating system from a source database.
- "Failover Clusters" — Describes the new built-in support for Failover Clusters in the Progress RDBMS.
- "Accessing and Using PDF Documentation" — Describes how to use the Progress Software Corporation (PSC) PDF Electronic Documentation set.
