WebSpeed
Installation and
Configuration Guide
Performing a Custom Installation
Perform a custom installation when you want to install individual WebSpeed components. For example, the WebSpeed Messenger must reside on the same machine as your Web server. If you installed WebSpeed Workshop or WebSpeed Transaction Server on another machine, you must run the installation utility on your Web server machine to install the WebSpeed Messenger. See "Installing WebSpeed On UNIX," for information on distributing WebSpeed components.
Installing individual components might also help you work around disk space limitations. You can then choose to install only the mandatory WebSpeed components. Plan your custom installation carefully before you start. If you later find that you need a component or subcomponent that you did not install, you can add it to the installation using the Add Component feature.
To perform a Custom Installation, follow these steps:
CAUTION: If you have other WebSpeed or Progress products already installed on this machine, answer No when prompted to copy the scripts to

You can ignore the warning messages about installing mandatory components.
