Creating Cross-file Links

Cross-file links are jumps and popups that have destination topics located in external help files:

SYNTAX
link-textdestination-topic@pathname

You format the text for the popup or jump in the regular way (single or double underlined followed by hidden text) except that after the destination topic, you insert an at sign (@) followed by the name of the help file containing the destination topic:

In this example, when the user chooses the jump (SYSTEM-HELP statement), the help viewer displays the help topic for the SYSTEM-HELP statement located in the help file lgrfeng.hlp.

NOTE: At run time, the help file that contains the destination topics must reside in the path specified in the link itself. If you do not specify a pathname, the help viewer assumes that the help file resides in the current working directory.
