Using the SHOWCFG Utility On Windows
On Windows, to run SHOWCFG from the Start menu, choose Progress
Config; to run SHOWCFG from the Progress Program Group, double-click the Config icon. The Config icon looks like this:

You can also start the SHOWCFG utility by typing the following command at the command line of the PROENV window:
The SHOWCFG utility opens the Product Configuration Information dialog box to display the product configuration information stored in the Progress configuration file
progress.cfg

The display contains the following information for each Progress product installed on the system:
Product Name — Name of the installed product.
Installation Date — Date the product was installed.
Expiration Date — Date the license expires.
Serial Number — Number associated with the license agreement.
Control Numbers — Numbers used by the Progress installation software.
Version Number — Software product version.
Machine Class — Tier code associated with the license agreement.
Port Number — Platform on which the software product is installed.
SHOWCFG searches for the
progress.cfg
file in the locations defined as PROCFG and DLC in theprogress.ini
file. To find theprogress.ini
file, SHOWCFG searches the following locations, in the order specified:If the utility finds the
progress.cfg
file, it displays the contents in the Progress Configuration Information dialog box.If SHOWCFG cannot find the
progress.cfg
file, the Open dialog box appears so you can specify the file’s location. You can also use the Open dialog box to specify a different Progress configuration file to display. To display the Open dialog box, choose the More button in the Progress Configuration Information dialog box.Progress does not accept optional qualifiers that point to a configuration (
.cfg)
file other thanDLC:PROGRESS.CFG.
