Using Authentication
For each Internet-based server and AppServer accessed by WebClient or the application, user IDs and passwords can be set. This can be done by you, or, in the case of an out-hosted server, by the out-hoster. Although user IDs and passwords are not required, using them strengthens security.
NOTE: PSC recommends that you seriously consider protecting each server accessed by WebClient or the application with a user ID and password. For more information on user IDs and passwords for a particular Internet-based server, see the documentation for that server. For more information on setting user IDs and passwords for an AppServer, see the Building Distributed Applications Using the Progress AppServer manual.
