Organizing OID and Database Startup Parameters
One way to organize OID Connection (-SV) and Database Connection (-db) parameters is to put them in different parameter files and specify them as shown in the following example:
In this example, all connection parameters to the OID for
inventory
are located in theesqlprms.pf
parameter file, and all database connection parameters are located in thedbprms.pf
parameter file.Alternatively, you can place your startup parameters in the
startup.pf
file located in your Progress installation directory (the DLC directory) or create a newstartup.pf
file in another directory and set the PROSTARTUP variable to that directory.
