Progress
Debugger Guide
CANCEL BREAK Command
Removes a single breakpoint specified by combinations of procedure names and line numbers or any selection of breakpoints specified by breakpoint number.
SYNTAX
PARAMETERS
proc-name
The name of a Progress procedure.
line-no
An integer that specifies a line number in the listed or specified procedure.
n
An integer that specifies the ordinal breakpoint number of any current breakpoint displayed by the SHOW BREAKS command. The preceding # symbol is required.
NOTES
- When using the procedure (proc-name) and line number (line-no), you must specify the procedure exactly as you did to set the breakpoint. If the procedure is inactive you must specify the line number exactly as you did when you set it. However, if the procedure is active in the Debugger context, you can specify either the original line number or, if different, the number of the executable line where the breakpoint applies. For example, the following CANCEL BREAK commands do not necessarily remove the same breakpoint, even though both breakpoints have the same effect during execution:
For more information on specifying breakpoints, see the BREAK Command.
- When you cancel a breakpoint, the Debugger echoes the result in the data panel, including the ordinal breakpoint number, procedure name, and line number of the canceled breakpoint. If the procedure is displayed in the listing panel, the breakpoint indicator disappears from the corresponding line.
- If you specify only a line number, the breakpoint is canceled on the specified line for the procedure displayed in the listing panel.
- If you specify only a procedure name, the breakpoint is canceled on the first executable line if the procedure is active in the Debugger context, or on just the procedure name if the procedure is inactive.
