NULL Values in a GROUP BY Clause
When you apply a GROUP BY clause to a column containing NULL values, all NULL values are placed into the same group.
EXAMPLEIn the following example the SELECT statement returns a count and a list of employee names (ename). All the employees who are not assigned to a project (projno) are grouped together in the result set:
