Becoming Derealized

Realization is not a permanent state. Under conditions listed in Table 16–3, a previously realized widget becomes derealized.

All dynamic widgets
The widget is deleted.
All static widgets
The widget goes out of scope
Any field-level widget
The containing field group is derealized.
Field group
The containing frame is derealized.
 
The associated iteration is scrolled off the screen.
Frame
The containing window is deleted.
Menu bar
The window that owns the menu bar is deleted.
 
The menu bar is detached from the window.
Menu item
The parent menu is derealized.
Pop-up menu
The widget that owns the pop-up menu is derealized.
 
The pop-up menu is detached from its owner.
Submenu
The parent menu is derealized.
