Additional SQL Explorer Properties

You can modify SQL Explorer properties to change how SQL Explorer behaves. From the graphical and character interfaces, you can change the value for a specific property. This is the syntax for setting a property from the SQL Explorer prompt, using the character interface:

SYNTAX
SQLExplorer> @property_name_new_value ;

This is the syntax for setting a property in the input pane of the SQL Explorer window, using the graphical interface:

SYNTAX
@property_name new_value ;

SQL Explorer provides six new properties in this version. (For more information, see the “New Properties for GUI and Character Interfaces” section and the “Properties for the Character Interface Only” section in this chapter.)

If you do not modify the default setting for any of the new properties, SQL Explorer behaves as it did in earlier versions.

To see a list of all properties you can set, invoke the help property:

SYNTAX
@help  ;
