Command Panel Entry

You can enter commands in the command panel by:

Typing Commands

To type a Debugger command in Windows, enter it in the command panel immediately below any listed command history. To type a debugger command in OSF/Motif, enter it in the Enter Command field. You can enter multiple commands as a single command by separating them with a semicolon (;), as in the following example:

step; show stack; list variables 

Each single or multiple command entry is placed in the command queue and executed as a single command. For information on the syntax for each command, see "Command Reference."

Re-entering Commands from the Command History

To enter a previously entered command, choose it from the command history as follows:

In each environment, the command scrolls into the command history as it is placed in the command queue.

Entering Commands with Macros

Using macros, you can also enter one or more Debugger commands as a single command, and specify up to three parameters to satisfy command arguments. For more information on using macros to enter commands, see the "Defining and Using Macros and Buttons" section.
