This section describes the documents in Version 9.1B documentation set that were updated for Version 9.1C:
- Pocket Progress (hard-copy only)
This book has been updated to reflect the changes made for the current release of Progress.
This book has been updated with the ADM2 API reference entries from the Version 9.1B Progress on the Web . The book has been reorganized. New tables list the class files and properties. Individual descriptions of the property get/set routines have been eliminated, because they are so highly standardized. WebSpeed-specific entries have been gathered into one chapter.
This book has been updated with the SmartObjects information from the Version 9.1B Progress on the Web . Code examples have been added for the Combo-Box widget. See the Preface for a complete description of the book’s new layout.
This guide has been updated to provide more in-depth information on the SportsPro sample application. The chapter on “Working with the Sample Application” now describes each module in the sample application and highlights important techniques. The chapter on “SmartObject Technology in the Sample Application” now lists the important objects in each module and their functions.
This guide has been updated with information on the new PRGRS_ALWAYS_INDEX option.
- Progress Electronic Documentation Installation and Configuration Guide
This guide has been updated to include new information on how to search across multiple PDF files. Additionally, the DynaText installation instructions have been slightly modified.
This guide has been updated throughout with the latest installation requirements for all Windows platforms. The chapter on “Setting Up Your Environment” now covers using the AdminServer on Windows2000. The “Progress Version 9 Typical and Complete Installation Components” appendix has been updated with the latest list of components and subcomponents.
NOTE: The system requirements provided in the manual are current as of the manual’s publication date; however, requirements can change. To make sure that you have the most up-to-date information about system requirements, please be sure to refer to the Progress Release Notes .This guide has been updated throughout with the latest installation requirements for all Windows platforms. The “Progress Version 9 Typical and Complete Installation Components” appendix has been updated with the latest list of components and subcomponents.
At the request of the DG-UX vendor, the last release of Progress to be offered on the DG-UX operating system is Version 9.1B. DG-UX has been removed from the list of supported platforms for 9.1C.

This manual has been updated with new and modified 4GL language elements related to enhancements in the Debug Alert, the Internet Component Framework (ICF), the WebClient, and XML support. For a list of the 4GL language elements that were created or modified in Progress Version 9.1B and Version 9.1C, see "Progress 4GL Language Reference," in this bulletin.
This manual has been restructured to focus on developing and deploying WebClient applications. Information on SmartObjects has been moved to the Progress AppBuilder Developer’s Guide . Information on SmartObject API has been moved to the Progress ADM 2 Reference . Information on the AppServer Internet Adapter and Progress SonicMQ Adapter have been moved to appendices in the Progress Version 9 Product Update Bulletin .
This bulletin has been restructured to enable you to find new information in the rest of the documentation set more easily. The quickest way to explore the new information in this release is to look at the list of cross-references in Chapter 1. You can also find large blocks of new information by reading the descriptions of new and updated books in Chapter 2. Chapter 3 highlights any changes from the way a feature worked in earlier releases to the current release. Any information on new features that has not yet been added to the document set is in the bulletin’s appendices.
