Database Server Network Parameters

Use the parameters listed in Table 3–13 to supply Progress with necessary network information.

Connect a servergroup and an AdminServer.
SQL-92 Server Java Classpath
-classpath pathname
Identify the Java classpath to use when starting an SQL server.
Host Name
TCP: -H host-name
SNA: -H PLU= plu-name
Specify a remote host.
Maximum Clients Per Server1
-Ma n
Specify the maximum number of remote users per database server.
Maximum Dynamic Server1
-maxport n
Specify the highest accessible port number in a specified range.
Minimum Clients per Server1
-Mi n
Specify the number of remote users on a server before a broker starts another server.
Minimum Dynamic Server1
-minport n
Specify the lowest accessible port number in a specified range.
Maximum Servers1
-Mn n
Specify the maximum number of remote client servers that a broker can start.
Servers Per Protocol1
-Mp n
Specify the maximum number of servers to serve remote users for a protocol.
Maximum Servers Per Broker1
-Mpb n
Specify the maximum number of servers that multiple brokers can start to serve remote users for a protocol.
Network Type
-N network-type
Identify the network communications protocol.
Configuration Properties File
-properties filename
Identify the properties file an AdminServer uses when starting a database server or servergroup.
Service Name
-S { service-name | port-number }
Specify the service or port number to be used by a broker process.
Server Group
-servergroup name
Identify a logical collection of server processes to start.
