Using the SHOWCFG Utility

The Progress installation program prompts you to enter product information contained in the License Addendum , which is included in your software package. The installation program records license information in the Progress configuration file progress.cfg. You can use the Show Configuration (SHOWCFG) utility to display product installation and configuration information for each Progress product installed on your system.

The SHOWCFG utility has the following syntax:

SYNTAX
showcfg $env_variable/progress.cfg 

For example:

showcfg $DLC/progress.cfg 

The SHOWCFG utility displays the product configuration information stored in the Progress Version 9.1 configuration file progress.cfg, which is created and modified during product installation.

Figure 3–1 shows a typical display of the product configuration.

DISPLAY FIELDS

The display contains the following information for each Progress product installed on the system:

Product Name — Name of the installed product.

Installation Date — Date the product was installed.

Expiration Date — Date the license expires.

Serial Number — Number associated with the license agreement.

Control Numbers — Numbers used by the Progress installation software.

Version Number — Software product version.

Machine Class — Tier code associated with the license agreement.

Port Number — Platform on which the software product is installed.
