CREATE TABLE Statement Supports Case Sensitive Naming
You can use the
CREATE TABLE
statement to define the case sensitivity of a particular character column. By default, columns defined in SQL are case sensitive. The following
CREATE TABLE
statement illustrates how you can define a character column’s sensitivity:
This statement produces a table with three character columns. The first column is case sensitive because the last character of the collation is
S
ors
. The second column is insensitive because the last character isI
ori
. The third column is case sensitive because, in the absence of an explicitCOLLATE
modifier, the column assumes the case sensitive default.
