Using the Windows Client to Manage SQL NULL Value Assignments
If you use the Progress/400 Data Dictionary to maintain your DB2/400 files, two options that affect the outcome of legacy unknown value assignments or SQL NULL assignments are available to you.
Follow these steps to set these two values with the Progress/400 Data Dictionary:
- Choose the Field mode button in the Progress/400 Data Dictionary main window.
- Choose Modify schema.
- Select the table that will contain the new field from the Tables list.
- Choose the Create Field button. The following dialog box appears:
![]()
You can select the Mandatory or the Null Capable option setting. Table B–3 displays possible settings for these two values. Table B–3 also describes which assignments are allowed based on these option settings.
