Selecting a Server to Host the Codebase
If you are using IntelliStream, the codebase (application components for the initial download and for updates) can reside on a standard Internet-based server or on an AppServer.
Just as with the application configuration file, you might host the codebase on a server you have already set up. For example, if you have already set up an AppServer with the business logic the application accesses, you might host the codebase there.
And just as with the server for the application configuration file, if the server you select already has security set up, the security can protect the codebase at little or no additional cost.
Once you select a server, then at application-deployment time, you describe the server to WebClient using the Application Assembler’s Codebase Locator Definition window, as shown in Figure 4–2.
