The AppBuilder Main Window

The main window (shown in Figure 2–1) contains a menu bar, a tool bar, fields that show information about the current object, and a status bar.

The AppBuilder menu bar consists of eight menus: File, Edit, Compile, Tools, Options, Layout, Window, and Help. Table 2–1 describes how these menus relate to WebSpeed application development.

Allow you to...
File
Create a new Web object or open an existing Web object.
Edit
Edit the selected Web object.
Compile
Run, check the syntax of, and debug the application you create.
Tools
Access WebSpeed WebTools, manage database connections, and access other Progress tools and utilities.
Options
Connect to a WebSpeed Broker and specify your default browser.
Layout
Specify the location of visual objects (not available in WebSpeed AppBuilder or when creating Web objects).
Window
Manage multiple design windows.
Help
Access help topics and obtain information about messages you might receive when working with the AppBuilder.
