Creating and Configuring a Version 9 Database Server

Follow these steps to use Version 9 features with a server:

  1. From the desktop, do one of the following:
    • On Windows NT, Windows 98, and Citrix MetaFrame platforms, choose StartSettingsControl PanelServices, and verify that the AdminServer is running.
    • On Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows XP, choose Start Programs Administrative Tools Services. Verify that the status for the AdminService for PROGRESS 9.1E is Started.
    • NOTE: If Administrative Tools is not available, right-click from the Task Bar. Choose Properties, then select the Advanced tab. Select the Display Administrative Tools checkbox, then choose OK.

  2. Use the Progress Explorer to add a database configuration.
