Accessing PDF Files From the CD
The PDF Documentation CD is a universally-formatted CD that is readable by both Windows and UNIX systems. Follow these steps to access a PDF file from the PDF Documentation CD:
- Insert the PDF Documentation CD into your CD-ROM drive.
NOTE: The- If you have autorun enabled, when you insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive, the start.pdf file will automatically appear. If you do not have autorun enabled, manually open the start.pdf file in the Adobe Reader.

file also contains information on using the PDF files on this CD.- To view a PDF file directly from the CD, click the collection link and then click the book link in that collection.
NOTE: To enable links between books to work correctly, you must copy all of the PDF files to your system in the same directory structure that is defined on the CD. See the "The Progress Documentation Set" section for a list of all the PDF directory names. On some UNIX platforms the links may not work. Refer to the Adobe documentation for more information about using the Reader on your platform.You can also start the Adobe Reader, then open the file you want to read.- To copy a PDF file from the CD to your system, right click the book link and select the Save As ... command.
NOTE: For Windows platforms, we’ve provided a self extracting ZIP file called- To search and jump across books on your local file system, copy the PDF files from the CD to your machine. You must copy all of the files and directories from the CD to your machine in the same directory structure that is defined on the CD.

for this purpose. This file is located in theZIP
directory on the PDF CD. To extract the files, simply double-click theProgress Documentation.exe
file.
