Startup Command Syntax
These are the conventions used in command syntax descriptions:
For example, you can use the following command to allow 100 users to access the sports database and then set values for the database connection, performance, and network parameters.
Table 2–1 describes each of the command components.
Observe the following conventions when you enter a command:
- On UNIX, use lowercase characters for commands; on Windows, commands are not case sensitive.
- On UNIX and Windows, enter parameters exactly as shown in the syntax descriptions.
- On UNIX, values can be case sensitive. (For example, names of UNIX files are case sensitive.) In addition, on Windows NT using the NT File system (NTFS), values can be case sensitive. On Windows, values are not case sensitive using the File Allocation Table (FAT or FAT32).
