Modifying DB2/400 Data Definitions with Progress/400
This section explains how to modify data definitions. It describes two ways to do this:
Both methods update the server schema and the client schema holder. Generally, the modifications you make are interchangeable between tools. If you use an AS/400 tool to modify data definitions and then run CHGPRODCT to change data files that were originally created with Progress, you can use the RTNPROATR parameter to retain a large set of data file properties. However, if you use the Progress/400 Data Dictionary to modify data-files originally created using an AS/400 tool, non-Progress properties (for example, SELECT/OMIT criteria) are removed.
