Windows XP Style Widget Support
On Windows XP, you can display the following Progress widgets in Windows XP style instead of using Windows Classic style: BUTTON (with a standard label, that cannot accept focus, and does not have an image), COMBO-BOX, DIALOG-BOX, EDITOR, FILL-IN, RADIO-SET, SELECTION-LIST, SLIDER, TOGGLE-BOX, and WINDOW.
To display these widgets in the Windows XP style, you must:
- Create (or otherwise obtain) a
prowin32.exe.manifest
file. This is a text file that contains XML instructions that direct Progress to use the Windows XP controls instead of the standard Windows controls. For instructions on creating this file, see the "Creating a prowin32.exe.manifest file" section.- Place a copy of the
prowin32.exe.manifest
file in the installation-path\bin\
directory (with theprowin32.exe
file).NOTE: You might also need to run INI2REG to load the- Set the
UseClipChildren
option in the Startup section of theprogress.ini
file to YES.UseClipChildren

- Set your Windows desktop theme to Windows XP.
