Using Input and Output Parameters
In the tutorial, you also saw how to define input and output parameters and supply values when calling runnable modules. Progress supports these types of data structures as parameters: variables, buffers, and handles.
Parameters are more precise in their use of resources and more readily understandable since they specify whether they are input, output, or both.
For most applications, and especially where resource concerns are an issue, parameters are the most common and important technique for sharing among modules.
