CLOSE a Cursor
The CLOSE cursor statement puts the cursor in the closed state. Once the cursor is closed, no FETCH calls can be issued on the cursor until it is reopened.
This is the syntax for the CLOSE cursor statement:

The following code fragment shows how to use the CLOSE cursor statement to close the cursor cust_cur:
The active set of a closed cursor is undefined, and you cannot execute fetches against that cursor. After you close a cursor, the only valid statement referring to that cursor is an OPEN cursor_name.
