Product Guide

Changing Connection Information

Follow these steps to change connection information for a DB2/400 database:

  1. Choose DataServer DB2/400 Utilities Edit Connection Information. The following dialog box appears:
  2. Modify the Connection Parameters. When you are done, choose OK to return to the main window.

The changes do not take effect until you disconnect and reconnect the client schema holder. When you reconnect, Progress uses the new connection parameters.

For details on connection parameters, see "Remote Access to Progress/400 DataServer," and the Progress Startup Command and Parameter Reference.

The Logical Database Name can be changed using this utility. If the DB2/400 database is connected, it will be disconnected and reconnected using the new logical name. If the DB2/400 database is not connected, then the logical name is changed and the tool you are working on is closed. This is necessary so the proper aliases are reassigned to the new logical name. When the tool is reselected, the new logical name will be in effect.
