Debugger Guide
Interaction Between Debugger and Client
The Debugger process sends (executes) the commands you enter to the Progress client, for example, setting breakpoints or requesting the contents of the procedure call stack. The client interprets the commands, performs relevant actions (such as setting breakpoints), and sends run-time information to the Debugger process in response. For example, the client sends the procedure and line number of each breakpoint that it encounters or the contents of the procedure call stack for each SHOW STACK command that it receives. The Debugger process uses the run-time information that it receives from the client to manage and display procedure listings.
