Differences Between Small and Large Clients
The OID for small client database access is installed with a fixed set of standard capabilities that include:
Unlike large client executables, you cannot customize an OID using the end user configuration (PROBUILD) utility to access a supported DataServer other than Progress, to use your own sort routines, or to access the Host Language Call (HLC) interface from database schema triggers. To include these Progress features in your ESQL application, use a large client executable.
