Elements of Dynamic ESQL Execution

The following sections describe how to use immediate execution and the more complex techniques for prepared execution, including dynamic parameter markers.

For a basic dynamic ESQL application example, see the dyndemo.cc Progress/ESQL source file provided in your ESQL installation directory. For a complete dynamic ESQL application example that includes dynamic parameter support, see dprmdemo.cc. This example uses a combination of ESQL and ESQL-LIB. For a complete example that calls ESQL-LIB directly and also includes parameter marker support and data type conversion examples, see the clidemo.c C source file in the same directory.
