Report Overview and Output
As with all other types of reports, before Report Builder generates a report, you must create the report definition. There are five basic steps to follow to create a report definition:
When you follow these basic steps, you will produce the report shown in Figure 1–11.
The Green Bar Report report definition in the
Tutorial.prl
report library creates this report. However, you should perform the tasks in this chapter to learn how to create them for yourself.To create this report, you must:
- Connect to the Newsport database.
- Create the Accounts Receivable report definition in Accounts Receivable Report."
- Know how to perform the tasks described in the previous chapters. If you have difficulty performing any task for creating this report, see the appropriate chapter for a complete description of the task.
The Green Bar Report Sample definition is the completed report definition for this chapter.
