The Schema Image

A schema image contains schema definitions for a DB2/400 database. The schema is a description of a database structure, the files, the fields within the files, the indexes, and so forth. The Native 4GL Client and the Progress/400 AppServer use the schema image to understand the rest of the server schema.

Before the Native 4GL Client or the Progress/400 AppServer can access DB2/400 data, you must create a schema image. See "Preparing to Use AS/400-based Clients," for information on building a schema image.
